The standard pitot tube is made up of two concentric tubes with different inner diameters. The straight end tail joint of the inner tube is a full pressure tube, and the flat end joint of the outer tube is a static pressure tube The direction of the side pointing rod and the head of the measuring rod can be determined during use to ensure that the measuring head is aligned with the direction of the incoming flow

To select the measurement point section correctly, ensure that the measurement point is located in a straight pipe section with smooth airflow For this purpose, local components such as elbows, valves, and variable diameter pipes that measure the distance between the cross-section and the incoming flow direction should be greater than 4 times the diameter of the pipeline. Local bends and variable diameter connections in the downstream direction should be greater than twice the diameter of the pipeline.
When measuring, the full pressure hole should be aligned with the direction of the airflow to indicate the direction. The insertion hole of the measuring point should avoid air leakage, which can prevent airflow interference on the section.
According to the technical specifications for pipeline measurement, select the measuring points for the measurement section reasonably.
Using a pitot tube can only measure the flow velocity at a certain point on the pipeline section, but when calculating the flow rate, the average flow velocity should be used. Due to the uneven distribution of flow rate on the section, multiple points should be measured on the section to obtain the average value. The measuring points should be divided according to the "logarithmic linear" method, or they can be divided according to the commonly used equal area method.
Each pitot tube static pressure joint is marked with a number and accompanied by the calibration coefficient of the tube.
