Inorganic pollutants - rapid detection of conductivity: cleanliness assessment of food processing water
Date: 2025-11-03Read: 12
Conductivity measurement is a simple and fast method for determining the cleanliness of food processing water (drinking water), based on the positive correlation between the content of inorganic electrolytes in water and conductivity - the lower the conductivity, the purer the water.
1、 Key judgment criteria
  1. Purified waterConductivity ≤ 10 μ S/cm. If the commercially available purified water is greater than 10 μ S/cm, it is considered fake;

  1. Conventional drinking waterThe water in the south is about 200 μ S/cm, while the water in the north is about 400 μ S/cm due to high calcium and magnesium ions (the water quality is relatively hard);

  1. abnormal warningConductivity greater than 1500 μ S/cm indicates high impurity content or the possibility of artificially adding electrolytes (containing toxic substances such as nitrite, arsenic, mercury, etc.).

2、 Detection and subsequent processing
Use a conductivity meter to quickly screen water samples. If abnormal conductivity is detected (such as exceeding 1500 μ S/cm or pure water not meeting standards), the suspicious water sample should be sent to the laboratory for further confirmation and investigation of specific inorganic pollutants.
