There is a significant difference between microwave heating and traditional heating methods. Traditional heating methods rely on a heat source to first heat the surface of an object through radiation, conduction, convection, and other pathways. Then, through thermal conduction, the internal temperature gradually increases from the surface to the inside. The heat transfer rate inside most objects is slow, such as rubber materials, so it takes a long time to achieve overall heating of the object. At the same time, it is easy to cause uneven heating of the object, affecting the quality of the heated object, and even changing the color, nutritional composition, and physicochemical properties of the heated object. Microwave heating has a unique heating method - overall material heating. Therefore, microwave heating has the following advantages:
1. Penetrating heating, fast heating speed, uniform heating. Its penetration distance is theoretically on the same order of magnitude as the wavelength of electromagnetic waves. Therefore, macroscopically, it is manifested as fast heating speed, good uniformity, and unchanged color and composition of the object. Microwave heating is a method of overall heating that uses the heated object itself to become a heating object, without the need for thermal conduction, thus achieving uniform heating in a short period of time. During microwave heating, regardless of the shape of each part of the object, electromagnetic waves can usually penetrate uniformly to generate heat, greatly improving the inefficiency of heating dielectric materials. Compared with high-frequency heating, microwave heating does not require designing electricity that is suitable for the shape of the object, and can achieve uniform heating of any type of object, which is beneficial for improving product quality.
2. Selective heating, energy-saving. Microwaves have different effects on materials with different dielectric properties, which is beneficial for drying and processing characteristics. Water molecules have good absorption effects on microwaves, so parts with high water content absorb more microwave power, and only directly heat objects that can absorb microwave energy. They almost do not heat the furnace body or the air inside the cavity. When microwave heating is performed, the heated material is usually placed in a metal heating container, which is a closed cavity for radio waves. Microwaves cannot leak out and can only be absorbed by the heated object. The air inside the heating chamber and the corresponding container will not heat up, so the thermal efficiency is high, which is energy-saving and improves the working environment.
3. Without thermal inertia, it has immediacy. Therefore, it can ensure high-quality processing materials.
4. Easy to operate and suitable for control. Microwave heating can instantly achieve the purpose of lifting, starting, and stopping, with low thermal inertia. It is particularly suitable for standardized and automated control of heating processes and heating processes by using PLC and touch control screens.
