Introduction

The Pitot tube flowmeter is a differential pressure flowmeter that uses the pitot tube principle to extract the fluid flow velocity at the center of the pipeline (total pressure static pressure=dynamic pressure) and converts it into fluid volume flow rate and mass flow rate.

The Pitot tube flowmeter inserts the probe into the center of the pipeline, with the total pressure hole facing the incoming direction of the positive fluid and the static pressure hole facing the outgoing direction of the positive fluid. The difference between the total pressure and static pressure is the measured differential pressure at the center of the pipeline. The standard differential pressure at this point is then fitted by the wind tunnel calibration curve of the probe, and the fluid flow rate is calculated based on the standard differential pressure. At the same time, a pressure transmitter is required to measure the fluid pressure, and a thermal resistance thermometer is used to measure the fluid temperature. The standard differential pressure signal, pressure signal, and temperature signal are simultaneously introduced into a flow integrator composed of a microcontroller or directly connected to the DCS system. On the one hand, the flow equation of the probe is solved, and on the other hand, pressure and temperature compensation is performed on the steam to ensure measurement accuracy. Differential pressure, pressure, temperature, instantaneous flow rate, cumulative flow rate, heat, velocity and other parameters are displayed digitally.


Performance Characteristics

Energy saving: Due to the fact that the intelligent probe of the measuring element is made of Φ 20mm stainless steel, its cross-sectional area is very small and there is almost no pressure loss in the medium pipeline, which greatly reduces the operating cost. Compared with throttling devices such as orifice plates, it has a significant energy-saving effect.


◆ High temperature and high pressure resistance: The intelligent probe of the primary component is made of 1Cr18Ni9Ti stainless steel (special steel is selected according to different media), which can withstand a maximum temperature of 650 ℃ and a maximum pressure of 32MPa for the media.


◆ High reliability: Due to the simple structure and reasonable design of the probe, the medium inside the pressure tube does not flow and debris is not easy to enter, so it can maintain measurement accuracy for a long time.


◆ Easy installation: Simply drill a suitable hole in the pipeline and insert the primary component probe into the center of the pipeline for easy installation.


◆ Maintenance free: The primary measuring element probe itself does not require maintenance, only the zero and full calibration of the differential pressure transmitter according to the regular calibration requirements of the measuring instrument, as well as the calibration of the corresponding current input of the secondary meter.


Wide measurement range: Accurate measurement is possible for flow rates ranging from 0.2 t/h to 50000 t/h. The measurement effect is particularly good for low flow rate, small flow rate, and large pipe diameter.


Widely used for measuring gas, steam, and liquid flow rates. Gas: primary wind speed (quantity), secondary wind speed (quantity), (negative pressure) air, oxygen, hydrogen, dry gas, coal gas (converter gas, blast furnace gas, coke oven gas), natural gas, liquefied gas, flue gas, chemical material gas, etc; Steam: superheated steam, saturated steam, wet steam, bidirectional steam, etc; Liquids: water, unfilled water, light oil, tar, crude oil, various solutions, chemical material liquids, etc.


The cross-sectional shape of the medium pipeline is widely applicable: This flowmeter has no requirements for the geometric shape of the medium pipeline cross-section, and is suitable for circular, elliptical, square, rectangular, angular, triangular, trapezoidal, etc.
