BIC FaultMaster from the UK is a handheld digital TDR time domain reflectometer, cable length measuring instrument, and fault (open/short circuit point) locator. Used to detect and locate open and short circuit faults in power/communication cables within a range of 2000m (6000ft) at one end of the cable.
FaultCaster adopts advanced fast edge stepping TDR technology, which can measure cable length, quickly identify open and short circuit faults, and indicate the fault distance on a 128 x 64 digital LCD.
FaultCaster has a built-in database of standard cable types, allowing users to accurately measure this type of cable without entering Vp information. The instrument will automatically compensate for the impedance values of different cables.
FaultCaster has a built-in audio oscillator generator that can be detected using standard cable tone probes for tracking and identifying cable pairs.
FaultCaster can monitor online voltage. When the online voltage of the test cable exceeds 10V AC/DC, the instrument LCD will display "Voltage detected" and terminate the test.
FaultCaster is made of sturdy and durable ABS shell material, with a waterproof and dustproof rating of IP54. Standard accessories include a test stick, shoulder strap, and instrument kit. The design and manufacturing of the instrument comply with international quality standards, high safety, and reliability.
