The HW-160 salt spray testing machine is used to test the corrosion resistance of products made of various materials after surface electroplating, anodizing, spraying, and anti rust oil anti-corrosion treatment.
HW-160 Salt Spray Tester Product Description
This salt spray corrosion test chamber can be used to assess the salt spray corrosion resistance of materials and their protective layers, as well as to compare the process quality of similar protective layers. It can also be used to assess the salt spray corrosion resistance of certain products. The equipment can reach any temperature point between room temperature and 50 ℃ in the experimental workspace and maintain a constant temperature.
The material used to manufacture this equipment is corrosion-resistant imported PVC plastic sheet, which does not affect the test results. In the design work of this equipment, the internal and external pressures are balanced, and salt spray will not directly spray onto the sample. Moreover, the design takes into account the generation of condensation water at the top, inner walls, and other parts of the equipment. Therefore, during the testing process, condensation water will not drip onto the sample and affect the test results.
This equipment is equipped with the test solution preparation method specified in the national standard.

a. The salt solution is prepared using sodium chloride (chemically pure, analytical pure) and distilled or deionized water, with a concentration of (5% ± 0.1)% by mass. The collected liquid after atomization shall not be reused except for the blocking part of the baffle;
b. The pH value of the salt solution before atomization is between 6.5 and 7.2 (35 ± 2 ℃). When preparing a salt solution, a chemically pure dilute hydrochloric acid or sodium hydroxide solution can be used to adjust the pH value, but the concentration still needs to meet the requirements of point a.

a. Dissolve sodium chloride in distilled or deionized water at a concentration of 50 ± 5g/L.
b. Add copper chloride (CuCl2 · 2H2O) to solution A at a concentration of 0.26 ± 0.02g/L (i.e. 0.205 ± 0.015g/L anhydrous copper chloride).
c. Add an appropriate amount of glacial acetic acid to solution A to ensure that the pH value of the salt spray collection solution in the test chamber is between 3.1 and 3.3. If the pH value of the solution before spray is 3.0~3.1, the pH value of the collected solution is generally in the range of 3.1~3.3. The pH value of a solution can be measured using an acidimeter, or a precise pH test strip calibrated with an acidimeter that can read a 0.1 pH value change can be used for daily testing. The pH value of the solution can be adjusted using glacial acetic acid or sodium hydroxide.
d. To avoid nozzle clogging, the solution must be filtered before use.

6. Pour the brine into the brine replenishing bottle, that is, automatically fill the brine into the spray tower in the laboratory, so that the liquid medicine flows to the brine spray tower.
7. Add water to the wet bulb cup, cover the wet bulb thermometer with gauze, and place the end of the gauze inside the wet bulb cup.
8. Place the test piece or sample on the shelf: The placement angle should be arranged according to the required standard regulations. For example, the standard test piece 130 × 70 (mm) can be placed at an angle of 15 degrees or 30 degrees.
9. Set the test temperature: Set according to the required standard (key "▲" to increase, key "▼" to decrease)
a. NSS and AASS tests: laboratory temperature of 35 ℃; The temperature of the saturated air tank is 37 ℃ (35 ℃~40 ℃).
b. CASS test: laboratory temperature 50 ℃; The temperature of the saturated air tank is 55 ℃ (50 ℃~55 ℃).
10. Set the test time: 0-999 hours (H: hour); Press the "+" button to increase; Press the "-" button to decrease)
11. Press the power button, operate the button, preheat first, and reach the set temperature. Attention: The test cover should be covered and handled with care to avoid damage.
