Design of mixing system:
Submersible mixers have multiple uses in sewage treatment plants. The use of submersible mixers in the activated sludge process can prevent sludge from settling at the bottom of the tank, mix sewage with reflux and recirculation water flow to evenly distribute suspended solids, and thus ensure sufficient contact between microorganisms and sewage. They can perform other similar functions in sludge treatment.
The factors that usually need to be considered in mixer design are energy density (W/m3) and overall flow velocity (m/s), especially in wastewater treatment. Due to the emergence of new mixing systems, the energy density standard has been used to represent the maximum energy consumption.
Effective stirring is achieved under overall flow conditions, where the medium in the pool is in motion as a whole and becomes a part of the stirring process. The overall flow velocity is usually 0.15-0.35m/s, which is now often used as a design parameter for the degree of agitation. Due to the issue of how to correctly define and measure the required flow velocity in a pool without a circulation channel, it is not enough to only specify an overall flow velocity in academia. Until today, the overall flow rate is still the most feasible method for quantitative analysis of the general mixing state in sewage treatment, and the work of quantitatively representing the mixing degree with parameters such as sedimentation, active volume, and sludge distribution uniformity is underway.
The overall flow is driven by the momentum of the agitator jet, which is essentially the reaction thrust of the agitator. 1. Oil change: Submersible mixers generally need to change the lubricating oil every six months. The type of lubricating oil is 32 # mechanical oil. When changing the oil, be careful to unscrew the oil plug and put the stored oil into it. Pay attention to the possibility of residual internal pressure in the oil gun to prevent oil spraying;
2. Assembly and disassembly of mechanical seals for submersible mixers: Assembly must be carried out under very clean environmental conditions, and the assembly medium is pure lubricating oil. Firstly, all parts of the mechanical seal must be cleaned thoroughly. Then, the static ring devices of both ends of the mechanical seal should be evenly and smoothly pressed into the positioning holes, paying attention to protecting the sealing surface of the static ring and not damaging it. Then, use the guide sleeve to install the dynamic ring onto the shaft, close the oil chamber end cover, and be careful not to collide with the sealing surface of the mechanical seal. The disassembly of the mechanical seal can be carried out in the reverse order of the above steps;
3. Bearing lubricating grease: It is generally replaced once during major repairs, with a lubricating grease amount of 1/3-1/2 of the bearing cavity clearance. It is recommended to use high-temperature calcium carbonate based lubricating grease;
4. Leakage protection treatment of submersible mixer: If the leakage switch is protected, it indicates that the mechanical seal on the motor side is damaged and must be inspected and repaired. Open the blockage in the oil chamber and drain the accumulated fluid inside.
Direct connected submersible mixer:
The direct coupled submersible mixer is mainly composed of an impeller and a submersible motor, with the impeller directly mounted on the motor shaft.

Maintenance and upkeep:
This equipment should be regularly maintained and serviced, and records should be kept. The power must be turned off before maintenance.
The insulation condition of the motor and control cabinet should be checked regularly.
This equipment comes into contact with the water in the pool, so it must be reliably grounded to prevent personal and equipment accidents.
The vulnerable parts of this equipment are bearings, mechanical seals, and oil seals. If wear is found, they should be replaced in a timely manner.
The oil level in the motor oil chamber should be maintained at around 90% of the chamber volume, and should be added promptly when the oil level is insufficient; Regularly check the oil condition, and replace it promptly if emulsification or water infiltration occurs.
The continuous operation time of this device is 8000-10000 hours. When the equipment has been in use for one year, a comprehensive maintenance should be carried out: the lubricating grease in the bearings and the lubricating oil in the oil chamber should be replaced to extend the service life of the bearings and mechanical seals (note: the lubricating grease in the bearings when this machine leaves the factory is imported high-temperature resistant grease, and the lubricating oil in the oil chamber is No. 32 mechanical oil); Perform moisture treatment on the motor; After reassembly, a 0.15MPa air tightness test should be conducted on the motor chamber and oil chamber of the submersible motor for 3 minutes without any leakage. At the same time, insulation inspection should be carried out, and the results should meet the requirements.
When the equipment is not in use for a long time, it should be taken out of the water, cleaned, and properly stored to prevent the motor from getting damp.
