1. Product Usage
The product is mainly used for lightning protection and overvoltage protection of electronic and power equipment in communication, railway, computer network, power, meteorology, transportation, residential and other fields.
2. Working principle
SPD is connected in parallel between the line (L/N) and the ground. Under normal operating voltage, MOV is in a high resistance state, which is equivalent to an open circuit to ground and does not affect the normal operation of the line. The fault display window is green, as shown in Figure 1.
When the line experiences transient pulse overvoltage due to lightning or switch operation,Lightning protection moduleQuickly conduct within nanoseconds, discharge the overvoltage to the ground, and when the pulse overvoltage disappears,Lightning protection moduleAutomatically restored to high impedance state without affecting user power supply. When the lightning protection module works in an overloaded state for a long time and heats up to a certain temperature, its performance deteriorates, and the thermal sensing protector in the module(K1) (as shown in Figure 2) will automatically disconnect the lightning protection module circuit to protect the power circuit from being affected.
When the line induces excessive lightning current, the overcurrent protector(K2) Quickly disconnect to protect the power circuit from being affected. After the action of K1 or K2, the tripping device inside the SPD will activate, causing the fault display window to display red (as shown in Figure 3), reminding the user to replace the SPD module. At the same time, the tripping device will drive the remote signaling alarm switch (SK) to activate and output a fault alarm signal.

4. Installation methods and precautions
(1) The power connection wire shall use a multi stranded copper wire of not less than 10mm2, and the grounding wire shall use a multi stranded copper wire of not less than 16mm2. The connecting wire should be as short, straight, and thick as possible. Grounding resistance of the grounding grid: R ≤ 4 Ω
(2) The front end of the lightning arrester should be connected in series with a suitable fuse or circuit breaker.
(3) During installation, the power must be disconnected and live operation is strictly prohibited. The connecting wires must meet the requirements.
(4) After installation, insert the module into place and check if it works properly.
(5) When the module fault display window indicates red, the remote signaling terminal outputs an alarm signal, indicating that the lightning arrester has malfunctioned and should be replaced in a timely manner. The lightning arrester does not require special maintenance, it only needs to be regularly checked for loose connections and normal status indicators.
