Instrument Introduction:

When polymer lotion is used as a surface treatment agent for coatings, adhesives, chemical fiber fabrics, leather, paper and other surfaces, its film-forming property is one of the important technical indicators. Researchers are constantly improving their technical specifications and formulations in order to create new products with lower film-forming temperatures. Therefore, detecting the minimum film-forming temperature is an important indicator for such coatings and an ideal instrument for easy measurement. The minimum film-forming temperature measuring instrument is designed and manufactured according to the national standard GB9267-2008. It is a new generation of paint film testing instrument, which has many advantages of traditional testing instruments at home and abroad, and integrates the advantages of desktop, energy-saving, ultra wide workbench, accurate temperature measurement, etc., becoming a leader in the same class of instruments.

usage method

1. Preparation before use: Open the packaging box (please keep it safe for future maintenance and transportation) and check for any damage or shortage. After verification, place the instrument near the water inlet and outlet in the laboratory and perform cleaning work first. Then check the power input and ensure that the inlet and outlet are securely connected.

2. Operation method

2.1 Connect the power cord to a power socket (220V, 50Hz three hole socket, must be well grounded), turn on the cooling water, and sequentially turn on the main power switch, heating, inspection, and cooling switches. The instrument panel will immediately display the corresponding actions (indicator light on, digital display showing numbers).

2.2 Different testing conditions need to be set according to the different conditions of the tested paint film. Mainly for cooling and heating presets (see the LU-906M intelligent regulator user manual for setting methods), the inspection table has been adjusted before leaving the factory and generally does not need to be adjusted.

2.3 Preheat the instrument for about 150 minutes (if the inspection table shows stable or minimal changes at points 1-13 within a certain period of time, the preheating is complete) before adding the sample.

2.4 Take off the plexiglass cover and use a spoon or dropper to inject the lotion to be measured and known into the gradient plate groove, then use a coater to coat it flat, and cover the plexiglass cover (two organic covers, one with holes, and the other is sealed, and the application is selected according to the moisture content of lotion. The desiccant is put into the box and used simultaneously with the sealing cover)

2.5 After about 60~90 minutes, the coating on the gradient plate undergoes a series of changes. After the water in the lotion for latex paint evaporates, the polymer molecules interact to form a continuous film at a proper temperature. The part above the MFT of the lotion is transparent, and the part below the MFT is cracked or chalky. The obvious dividing line is the low film forming temperature (MFT) of the lotion

After determining the film-forming line, calculate the accurate temperature using the subdivision scale of two rulers based on its position.

After the experiment is completed, turn off the power and water sources, and clean all parts to prepare for the next experiment.
