Function and application areas
The lightning surge protector V 25-B+C is a lightning protection equipotential connector designed according to the requirements of VDE 0185, Part 1 and Part 100. This device complies with the requirements of DIN VDE 0675, Part 6 (Draft 11.89) A1, A2 level B+C level protectors. In the installation of lightning protection in buildings, it ensures equipotential connection on power lines. When the power line is overhead and introduced into a building, the overhead line may introduce some direct lightning current. This protector can also be applied to the overhead power line introduced into such a building.
V 25-B+C/3+NPE (B+C grade) can be used for special surge protectors in TN-C-S, TN-S, TT, and IT systems. This protector is designed according to the latest requirements of DIN VDE 0100, Part 534/A1, allowing for simple and safe installation of paired protectors.
The high-performance surge protector OBO V 25-B+C has a special varistor circuit, which contains zinc oxide varistors with good nonlinear characteristics (а>30). Even if there is a high-energy surge in the circuit, the equipment can still receive maximum protection. Even when the surge current reaches 60 kA, the voltage of the protector is still below 1.5 kV. Therefore, the protector can withstand part of the lightning current from direct lightning strikes. In case of overload, the built-in thermal circuit breaker of the protector can disconnect the protector module from the main circuit, ensuring the normal operation of the power supply system. At the same time, the status display window changes from green to red.
The OBO surge protector V 25-B+C can not only withstand lightning currents with high current capacity, but also has the characteristic of low protection voltage, which can be used as a B+C combined protector.
