Function and application areas

The OBO VF 230-AC/DC surge protector is an overvoltage protection component used in engineering control systems, signal flow circuits, transmission mainline systems, and computer systems.

The varistor in the protection circuit of the VF series surge protector can ensure a very low level of protection under the maximum discharge current limit of FKA. The circuit includes gas discharge tubes and zinc oxide varistors, monitored by thermal fuses. When the built-in components of the lightning arrester age and overload, the built-in circuit breaker will immediately cut off the circuit, and the green status indicator light will turn off. If equipped with a remote signal alarm device (FS) type protection device, the floating transfer contact will be activated.

The OBO VF 230 series lightning arrester can be directly installed on a 35mm standard guide rail through a clamp. Remote signal indication devices can be connected through the provided plug-in connectors.
