■Test Principle
1. Use an airflow resistance tester to connect differential pressure gauges and flow meters on both sides of the HME.
2. Measure the pressure difference within the first 5 seconds of flowing through HME using dry medical air or oxygen at the flow rate specified in Standard Table 4.
The gas temperature should be 23 ℃± 2 ℃. 6.3.3 Remove the HME, connect the two test pipelines, and measure the pressure drop at the same flow rate. Subtracting this value from the result measured in step 2 yields the pressure drop generated by HME.
4. After pre adjusting the HME to the recommended maximum usage time using the test instrument specified in standard 6.2.2 and the corresponding conditions for the expected application of the device specified in Table 2, repeat steps 1 and 2.
