1: Overview of elliptical gear flowmeter
It is a volumetric measuring instrument used for continuous or intermittent measurement and control of liquid flow in pipelines. It has many advantages such as a large range, high accuracy, low pressure loss, strong viscosity adaptability, ability to measure high-temperature and high viscosity liquids, convenient calibration, and installation suggestions. Suitable for flow measurement in departments such as petroleum, chemical, synthetic fiber, transportation, commerce, food, medicine and health.
Equipped with pointer and dial accumulation device, it can directly display the liquid flow rate and instantaneous flow rate flowing through the pipeline on site. Adding a signaling device and an electronic display instrument to the counting mechanism can achieve centralized control of cumulative, quantitative, and instantaneous flow remote transmission. Installing a radiator or elliptical wheel with insufficient teeth can measure high temperature and high viscosity liquids.
The flowmeter body can be made of different materials for different liquids (acid, alkali, salt, organic solution, etc.).

2: Working principle of elliptical gear flowmeter
Composed of a flow transmitter and a counting mechanism. Installing a radiator between the transmitter and the counting mechanism constitutes a high-temperature flowmeter. The transmitter consists of a measuring chamber equipped with a pair of elliptical gear rotors and a sealed coupling, while the counting mechanism includes a reduction mechanism, an adjusting mechanism, a counter, and a transmitter. The measuring room is composed of a pair of elliptical gears and a cover plate to form a crescent shaped cavity as the unit of measurement for flow rate. The elliptical gear rotates by the pressure difference between the inlet and outlet of the flowmeter, continuously measuring the liquid through the crescent shaped cavity and delivering it to the outlet. The liquid flowing through each rotation is four times that of the crescent shaped cavity. The total number of rotations and the speed of rotation of the elliptical gear are transmitted to the counting mechanism or transmitter through a sealed coupling, which can determine the total amount and instantaneous flow rate of liquid passing through the pipeline.
