XYZ microscope trackers are mainly used for imaging research, including freely moving or semi constrained model organisms such as Caenorhabditis elegans, fruit fly larvae, and zebrafish larvae. Application examples include behavioral genetics, linking neuronal activity with behavior, and detecting responses to stimuli.
The XYZ microscope tracker can keep the sample in the field of view and in a focused state. By using adjustable lenses and auxiliary cameras to collect images from different focal planes, there is no need to move the objective lens or sample. Evaluate the images captured by these microscopes and automatically adjust the position of the XYZ axes. The tracking function of XY platform and Z-axis platform can be enabled or disabled separately.

The XYZ microscope tracker consists of a software plugin, an adjustable lens, XY and Z platforms, and an auxiliary camera.
The Micro manager plugin is the core of the XYZ microscope tracker system. Through it, users can control the camera, adjustable lens, XY platform, and Z platform. Micro Manager is a free and open-source imaging solution that supports multiple cameras and microscopes.
The adjustable lens system uses a C-mount to connect the light outlet of the imaging camera and microscope. Adjustable lens is an important component of Z-axis microscope tracker, and Z-axis tracking is technically more difficult than XY axis tracking.
