ybzhanCorporate NewsThe main difference between natural gas and liquefied petroleum gas

The main differences between liquefied petroleum gas and natural gas are as follows:

1、 Their components:

-Natural gas: The main component is methane, with small amounts of ethane, propane, butane, etc.

-Liquefied petroleum gas: The main components are propane, butane, etc. It is a mixture composed of various low boiling point gases in the process of petroleum refining.

2、 Their sources:

-Natural gas: mainly exists in underground rock reservoirs and is extracted from natural gas fields.

-Liquefied petroleum gas: It is a byproduct of petroleum processing, obtained through processes such as refining and cracking of petroleum.

3、 Their status:

-Natural gas: It exists in gaseous form at atmospheric pressure.

-Liquefied petroleum gas: It is in a gaseous state at room temperature and pressure, but can be converted into a liquid state under certain pressure, making it easy to store and transport.

4、 Security:

-Natural gas: relatively safe, lighter than air, and will quickly spread upwards after leakage, making it less likely to accumulate and form explosive mixtures.

-Liquefied petroleum gas: heavier than air, it is prone to accumulate in low-lying areas after leakage and can easily cause explosions when exposed to open flames.

5、 Combustion characteristics:

-Natural gas: It burns more efficiently and produces relatively less pollutants, making it a cleaner energy source.

-Liquefied petroleum gas: It burns relatively cleanly, but compared to natural gas, it produces slightly more pollutants after combustion.

6、 Cost of use

-Natural gas: Generally speaking, the price is relatively stable, and the usage cost may be relatively low.

-Liquefied petroleum gas: The price fluctuates greatly, and the cost of use may increase due to market supply and demand.
