Charged Device Model (CDM) electrostatic discharge is a common cause of microelectronic circuit failures. CDM discharge at relatively low voltages can seriously damage or destroy sensitive devices. This situation usually occurs when electrostatic devices come into contact with metal surfaces of different potentials, with extremely fast rise times.


The ES640 Charged Device Model (CDM) testing system is a mechanized CDM testing system designed to meet the requirements of all commonly used CDM testing methods, allowing for the use of two methods: Field Induced Air Discharge (FICDM) and First Contact Method (CCDM). The system includes a computer, an environmental control room, a precision XYZ motion system, different types of CDM testing devices, and automatic testing and data analysis software.
