H3C VSR virtual router is a software router product that runs on industrial standard server virtual machines, unlike customized hardware router products.
VSR is based on the industry-leading Comware V7 platform:
Rich network and security features that can meet the network needs of enterprise branches and public cloud multi tenant environments;
Separation of control plane and data plane, specifically optimized for multi-core data forwarding in virtual environments, fully utilizing server CPU computing resources;
Modular architecture and open network platform allow for on-demand operation and control of the network, making it easier to implement NFV/SDN implementation;
Adopting a unified software platform with physical network devices, providing the same functional features and consistent management interface;
Realize dynamic creation and automated deployment of NFV resource pools through service chain technology. Realize flexible orchestration of tenant business without affecting physical topology and other tenants;
VXLAN is based on existing service providers or enterprise IP networks, providing layer 2 interconnection for dispersed physical sites and enabling business isolation for different tenants;
By using IRF technology to connect multiple virtual devices together and virtualize them into a distributed device, collaborative work, unified management, and uninterrupted maintenance of multiple devices can be achieved;
ADVPN (Auto Discovery Virtual Private Network) technology is a dynamic VPN technology based on the VAM (VPN Address Management) protocol. The VAM protocol is responsible for collecting, maintaining, and distributing dynamically changing public network addresses and other information, using the Client/Server model. The nodes in the ADVPN network act as VAM clients. The ADVPN node obtains the current public network address of the other ADVPN node from the VAM Server through the VAM protocol, thereby dynamically establishing an ADVPN tunnel across the IP core network between the two nodes. When using dynamic addresses to access the public network in various branches of the enterprise network, ADVPN can be used to establish VPNs between the branches;
License Server technology is centrally installed, operated, and managed on License Server, facilitating automated batch deployment of VNF. Decouple authorization and devices, unify authorization, pool reuse, and reduce authorization costs. High security, strong anti piracy ability, and effective protection of users' legitimate rights and interests;
VSR provides an ultra lightweight deployment experience:
Suitable for deployment in public clouds, achieving zero transportation, zero wiring, and accelerating business deployment;
Supports multiple mainstream virtual platforms such as VMware iPadOS, Linux KVM, H3C CAS, etc., fully leveraging the advantages of virtualization to achieve rapid deployment, batch deployment, image backup, fast recovery, and flexible migration;
Provide multiple publishing formats such as ISO, OVA, IPE, QCOW2, etc., to adapt to deployment on different virtualization platforms;
Support flexible deployment of various tools such as virtual machine management platform, network management platform, and local;
VSR provides strong business resilience:
Support mainstream virtualization platforms such as VMware iPadOS, Linux KVM, H3C CAS, etc., seamlessly adapting to user deployment environments;
Allow enterprises to build enterprise networks in virtualized environments, enabling on-demand deployment and management of network resources and services. For example, users can flexibly adjust the number and type of network ports as needed without the need to purchase new hardware network cards;
By dynamically adjusting virtual machine resources and licenses, software functionality can be smoothly upgraded and device performance can be improved as needed to meet business growth needs at any time;
Deploying VSR in a public cloud can achieve:
Enterprise VPC network is managed as a part of the enterprise network to ensure consistent network configuration, security policies, management policies, and IP address planning, achieving unified enterprise network management;
Like enterprise branches, implement unified traffic control, deploy consistent network services (such as QoS, firewall, load balancing, WAN optimization, etc.), and provide a consistent network service experience;
Establish end-to-end VPN connections between the enterprise headquarters, branches, and enterprise VPC to make public cloud application access more secure. At the same time, end-to-end access avoids headquarters transfer, reduces cloud application response time, and improves cloud application user experience;
Deploying VSR in a public cloud can achieve:
Integration of computing and network platforms, streamlining infrastructure, reducing space occupation and wiring, and saving costs;
Flexible deployment of business to shorten the online cycle;
Unified centralized management to reduce maintenance difficulty;

Public Cloud VPC Gateway Networking
In the cloud, VSR serves as a gateway device for extending enterprise networks to the cloud, deployed on servers in data centers, providing VPN between enterprise VPC and headquarters/branches to ensure the security of enterprise tenants.
The value brought by VSR to enterprises:
Manage the enterprise VPC network as a part of the enterprise network to ensure consistent network configuration, security policies, management policies, and IP address planning, achieving unified enterprise network management.
Like enterprise branches, implement unified traffic control, deploy consistent network services (such as QoS, firewall, load balancing, WAN optimization, etc.), and provide a consistent network service experience.
Establishing end-to-end VPN connections between the enterprise headquarters, branches, and enterprise VPC ensures more secure access to public cloud applications. At the same time, end-to-end access avoids headquarters transfer, reduces response time for cloud applications, and improves the user experience of cloud applications.
The value brought by VSR to cloud service providers:
Extend MPLS network to enterprise VPC, provide end-to-end manageable cloud connectivity services for enterprises, and enhance operational capabilities.
VPC network is managed and controlled by enterprises, simplifying tenant management and reducing maintenance costs.

E-government cloud department gateway networking
In the e-government cloud, the data center centrally manages server resources and assigns them to many departments for application installation and data storage. The security isolation between departments is the primary requirement, and there will also be some information sharing and data exchange needs. In addition, leaders and community/street leaders will also access data from various departments as needed.
VSR is deployed as a VPN gateway in data centers, providing:
Data isolation and sharing control between departments.
Departmental personnel, leaders, and communities/streets can securely access data from various departments through VPN.
VSR is deployed as an access gateway in communities/streets, providing:
Provide gateway access, VPN security and other functions.
VCPE provides a virtualization platform that can easily integrate other business applications in addition to running VSR.

Cloud branch gateway networking
By utilizing VSR, operators can build exclusive virtualization platforms and network resource management platforms for enterprises, enabling services such as proxy construction and maintenance of network infrastructure, and push of value-added services. Enterprises can manage and push business between headquarters and branches through the cloud service management platform of the headquarters.
The VSR1000 software can be downloaded and installed for free, and a license needs to be purchased for use.
