Due to the fact that electromagnetic waves are not affected by propagation media, they can reliably work in complex working conditions such as high temperature, high pressure, steam, dust, and volatilization.

Measuring principle

The radar level gauge emits microwave pulses from the antenna or detection component (steel cable or steel pipe) to the object being measured. When propagating to the surface of the object, due to the difference between the medium of the object and air, the microwave is reflected on the surface of the object, and the echo is received by the antenna. By measuring the time difference from the transmitted signal to the returned signal, the distance and level can be measured.

Due to the high propagation speed of electromagnetic waves, it is difficult to confirm the time interval between the transmitted and received pulses. The radar level gauge uses a special correlation demodulation technique to accurately identify the time interval between the transmitted and received pulses, thereby further calculating the distance from the antenna to the surface of the measured medium. The echo is detected by a receiver, and the transmission time is used to calculate the level. The reflected radar waves are digitally converted into echo patterns, and the distance between the medium surface and the instrument reference point is determined by analyzing the echo patterns. The travel time and interval of microwave pulses from transmission to reception are proportional to the distance from the antenna to the measured medium surface.
