1、 Introduction to the production of stainless steel spiral air ducts

Strictly speaking, the so-called stainless steel spiral air duct is a type of air duct processing technology, also known as spiral seam thin-walled pipe. It is a thin-walled pipe made of metal strip material rolled into a spiral seam shape. Due to the use of metal as the material, it is also known as spiral seam metal pipe.

2、 Characteristics of stainless steel spiral air duct

1. Beautiful appearance, smooth inner wall, low resistance, good air tightness, high pressure strength, suitable for very complex exhaust engineering.
2. It can eliminate flammable and non flammable chemical corrosive gases without the need for additional sprinkler fire extinguishing equipment.
3. Made of stainless steel, the material is sturdy and easy to maintain integrity.
4. The internal coating of stainless steel duct ECTFE Coating has high resistance to chemical acidity and alkalinity, impact resistance, corrosion resistance, and high temperature resistance. It can be applied at temperatures between 150 ℉ and 300 ℉ (-66 ℃~149 ℃).
5. Designed with computer-aided design, easy to install. Can be used in environments without fire extinguishing devices, saving the cost of installing fire extinguishing devices.
6. Its cost is higher than galvanized air ducts, making it convenient for transportation and adaptable to on-site changes.

3、 Process flow of stainless steel spiral air duct


1. In the air duct standards, tensile properties (tensile strength, yield strength or yield point, elongation) as well as hardness and toughness indicators are specified according to different usage requirements, as well as high and low temperature performance requirements from users.
2. The mechanical performance of large-diameter spiral ducts is the hardness index: the ability of metal materials to resist the surface compression of hard objects is called hardness. According to different testing methods and applicable ranges, hardness can be divided into Brinell hardness, Rockwell hardness, Vickers hardness, Shore hardness, microhardness, and high-temperature hardness. The commonly used hardness for pipes includes Brinell, Rockwell, and Vickers hardness.
3. The air duct shall be made of galvanized steel plate, and its thickness shall comply with the following provisions in the table below GB50243-2002. The curved pipe of the air duct can be an inner arc or inner diagonal rectangular bend. When the side length A is greater than or equal to 500mm, a bend guide vane should be installed.
4. The three-way or four-way of rectangular ducts can be split or separated. The connection between the air duct and the flange should be smooth, with a consistent width of no less than 6mm, and there should be no cracks or holes. The diagonal and flange joints should be coated with sealant.
5. Duct: A duct made of metal, non-metal sheets, or other materials used for air circulation.
6. Air duct: constructed with building materials such as concrete and bricks, used as a passage for air circulation.
7. Ventilation engineering: a general term for air supply, exhaust, dust removal, pneumatic conveying, and smoke control and exhaust system engineering.
8. Air conditioning engineering: a general term for air conditioning, air purification, and clean air conditioning systems.
9. Special use occasion air ducts: mining coated cloth air ducts, mining plastic ventilation ducts, (requiring flame-retardant and anti-static mining safety characteristics).

4、 Requirements for natural smoke exhaust of stainless steel spiral ducts

1. The area of the smoke proof staircase lobby, fire elevator lobby, and openable external windows should not be less than 2.00 square meters, and the shared lobby should not be less than 3.00 square meters.
2. The window area that can be opened in the inner aisle with a length not exceeding 60m should not be less than 2% of the aisle area.
3. Smoke proof stairwell front room or shared front room, when using open balconies, concave corridors or front rooms with different orientations of openable external windows for natural smoke exhaust, smoke proof facilities may not be required.
4. The window area for natural smoke exhaust must meet 2% of the project area. If the window area for spiral ducts does not meet the requirements, it is recommended to add windows or install mechanical smoke exhaust.
5. When the distance between the natural smoke exhaust window and the area that requires smoke exhaust exceeds 30m, it is necessary to add smoke exhaust windows or install mechanical smoke exhaust.

5、 Measures for Damaged Installation of Stainless Steel Spiral Ducts

1. Damage outside the pipeline: Special sealant can be used for repair. If the aluminum foil layer on the outer surface of the pipeline is damaged but the fiberglass insulation layer is not, qualified aluminum foil can be selected to repair the aluminum foil surface of the pipeline.
2. The damage has reached the glass fiber insulation layer: the damaged part can be cut off, and another complete board can be selected, reducing the board cutting according to the size of the glass, and then applying repair glue and adhesive to the interface, sealing according to process specifications, and checking the air pipeline regularly during normal operation to avoid delays.
